One new scholarship ranging from $1,000 - $2,500 is awarded annually to the winning candidate submitted to the selection committee from any one of the nominating organizations.
Once the nominee is selected, N.O.A.C. Toronto Branch Scholarship Fund’s Chair of the Selection Committee receives the paperwork by May 30th and the nominee is awarded the scholarship.
Each year one new winner is awarded a scholarship with the opportunity to receive the award for four consecutive years.
Ted Smith Memorial Scholarship.
Ted Smith was a former naval officer, and former life member of the Toronto Branch, who left a bequest specifically for "Canadians pursuing a career in the RCN".

Eligibility:
The nomination is only for a Canadian Student, and should be supported by:
a) a recent summary of grades (only a B average or greater will be considered)
b) a letter of recommendation/nomination from an official representative of the nominating organization (e.g: CO/XO/Training officer, captain, professor or director)
c) proof of registration in an institute of post secondary education in Canada.
d) any other supporting letters or letters of recommendation.
The Scholarship can be repeated for up to 3 more consecutive years, provided:
i) the B average Grade is maintained, and support provide annually,
ii) the student remains enrolled in consecutive years, in a Canadian Institution (regardless of course of study)
iii) the request is received with supporting information by May 30th annually.
